我們呼籲同學參與由「民間人權陣線」主辦的「七一大遊行」，詳情如下： 日期：二零零九年七月一日 時間：下午三時 (維園籃球場集合 (天后地鐵站)) 遊行路線：維園至政府總部 如有查詢，請聯絡外務副會長郝曉田 (66766091/ This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it ) 或署理外務秘書倪倩珩 (61307376/ This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it )。 七一維園見﹗ 香港大學學生會幹事會 -- 保障人權 推動民主 落實雙普選 －香港大學學生會七一宣言 回歸十二年，在今天「一國兩制」下的香港，民主進程停滯不前，基本人權自由不斷受到侵犯，民主方面的社會問題亦漸趨嚴重，加上政府頻頻施政失誤，引致民怨四起。 根據《基本法》，香港公民在平等的基礎上，均賦予了參與普選權利。然而，回歸十二年，全面普選行政長官及全體立法會議員仍未落實。政府不但漠視民意，更找來了無數的藉口令普選變得遙遙無期。從曾蔭權的六四言論和今年六四當晚維園裡的二十萬市民手中的燭光可清楚看出，只有真正的普選才能選出真正能代表香港市民的領袖，問責制才能於香港真正推行。因此，我們堅持爭取於二零一二年落實雙普選。 再者，基本人權自由持續受到打壓和侵犯。特區政府明顯地不斷收緊言論、遊行和集會自由；市民對平等公義的訴求亦接連遭到忽視。民間電台一直不獲發牌、社會運動人士遭受選擇性檢控、以至丹麥雕塑家高志活及民運人士於六四二十周年前夕再度被無理拒絕入境等事件，只是部份政府對市民的高壓手段而己。可見未來的民主道路仍有無數未知的困難。 二零零三年七月一日，五十萬市民為民主自由上街遊行，表達對政府施政的不滿。然而六年來，社會上各項問題都得不到改善，香港市民又豈能坐視不理？我們在此呼籲社會各界人士於七一當日積極參與遊行，表達自己的聲音，一起高呼對民主、自由的堅持及訴求，爭取普選，為香港的未來發聲!

Executive Committee, Hong Kong University Students’ Union -- For Human Rights, Democracy and Double Universal Suffrage HKUSU Statement for the July 1st March Twelve years after the Handover in 1997, the democratic progress in Hong Kong under the ‘One Country, Two Systems’ remains stalled. Hong Kong people are increasingly aggrieved about the fundamental rights and freedoms violations, social problems and livelihood deterioration, as well as countless failed government policies. The right of Hong Kong citizens to equal and universal suffrage is guaranteed under the Basic Law. However, twelve years after the Handover, universal suffrage for the Chief Executive and the Legislative Council still remains empty talk. In defiance of overwhelming public sentiment, the Hong Kong government has deferred the implementation of universal suffrage by providing one meritless excuse after another. From Donald Tsang’s June Fourth views and the 150,000 candlelight at Victoria Park, it is clear that only through real universal suffrage can we produce truly representative leaders for Hong Kong who are accountable to us. Thus, we insist on pressing for double universal suffrage by 2012. Further, suppression and violations of fundamental human rights and freedoms guaranteed in Hong Kong are not uncommon. The HKSAR Government has imposed tighter control on the freedom of expression, demonstration and assembly, while people’s demands for equality and justice are greeted with government indifference. This has been manifested in countless occasions, including the continuous refusal to grant a broadcasting licence to Citizens’ Radio, the selective charging of social activists, as well as the entry ban on the Danish sculptor, Jens Galchiot and other democratic activists prior to the 20th anniversary of June Fourth. On 1 July 2003, 500,000 of us Hong Kong people took it to the streets to voice out our grievances and demands to the government. Six years on, the situation has hardly improved. How can we still sit back this year? We hereby call for your support for the July 1st March. Together we will shout out our aspirations and demands for democracy, freedom and universal suffrage, in a strong voice for Hong Kong’s future.
